House Information

The kitchen is set up for actually using — whether you’re making a quick breakfast before heading to the beach, putting together lunch for everyone, or cooking dinner for the whole crew.

It’s an open kitchen that connects to the family room, so whoever is cooking doesn’t have to miss out on what’s happening with everyone else.

What’s here

The kitchen is well stocked with the basics you’ll need for a week at the beach, including:

• Full sets of plates in several sizes — small, medium, and large
• Silverware
• Drinking glasses and mugs
• Kitchen knives
• Pots and pans
• Baking dishes
• Measuring cups and other basic cooking tools
• Lobster pot
• Coffee maker + bean grinder
• Blender
• 2 Toasters
• Waffle iron
• Wine glasses and corkscrew
• Kitchen hand towels and drying towels

There’s also a dining table with seating for 8–12, with the kitchen and family room all connected for meals and hanging out.

*There is a full size _____ grill outside, immediately off of the kitchen, as well as 2 tables and 8 outdoor chairs for dining on the patio area.

A note for planning

You should be able to cook pretty much as you would at home, so there’s no need to pack a whole kitchen’s worth of equipment. Bring your groceries, coffee, favorite ingredients, and anything particularly specialized that you know you’ll want.

One less thing to pack: the house is stocked with linens and towels for your stay.

Linens

Beds are ready to be made with:

• Sheets and pillowcases
• Blankets and coverlets
• Pillows

Bath towels are provided in every bathroom, with extra towels available in the hall closets if you need them.

Beach towels are also provided. You’ll find them in the downstairs hallway closet near the bathroom.

Laundry

The washer and dryer are on the second floor and are available for guests to use during your stay.

There will likely be laundry detergent and dryer sheets in the laundry closet. If the supply has run out, you may need to pick some up during your stay. And, there are plenty of places nearby to do so.

A couple of housekeeping notes

And if you move linens, towels, or other things around during the week, please try to put them back roughly where you found them. “Roughly” is perfectly fine. This is a beach house, not a museum, and we’re much more interested in you having a good week than in everything being put back at precisely the right angle.

If you use something up or notice that something needs attention, just let us know. We can take care of it for the next guests.

If you can, please strip the beds before you leave.

If you have time before leaving (a 6am flight is a different story, you are excused), please do strip the beds of sheets. If you really have extra time, feel free to launder them in the washer / dryer.

Trash day is Monday.

The trash bins are in the coral at the end of the driveway to the left, near the street.

Which bin is which?

There are four bins available:

• Large green bin: trash
  • Small green bin: extra trash
• Large brown bin: recycling
  • Small blue bin: extra recycling

Use the smaller bins if you need the additional capacity during your stay.

Trash bags

Extra trash bags are in the bottom-left kitchen drawer, just to the left of the trash can, near the breakfast nook.

If you’re staying over Monday

If you’ll be at the house over a Monday, please put the barrels out for collection on Sunday night and bring them back to the trash pen afterward.

One small warning: the trash trucks can be quite loud on Monday morning, and they come through early. If you’re a light sleeper, consider yourself warned.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

If the Wi-Fi seems to be having trouble, give the router a minute or two to reconnect before trying again. If that doesn’t do the trick, let us know.

TV

There is a TV available in the house for when you want a little downtime after a day at the beach.

If you use a streaming service during your stay, please remember to sign out of your personal account before you leave.

There is toilet tissue, paper towels, and facial tissues stocked in the house, with supplies in the closets. Depending on how many people are staying and how much you use, you may need to pick up more during the week.

The house has four full bathrooms, so there should be plenty of bathroom space even when the house is full.

You’ll find beach chairs, plastic beach toys, an umbrella, assorted wagons, and other beach gear in the outdoor closet under the stairs.

After a trip to the beach, please brush off most of the sand before putting things away, and return everything to the closet when you’re finished. This helps keep the house — and the beach gear — a little less sandy for the next trip.

Vacuums and basic cleaning supplies are available in the two closets on the first floor:

• By the stairs
• By the bathroom

You don’t need any deep clean during your stay, but these are there if you need to deal with a sandy floor, a small spill, or the inevitable crumbs from a house full of people.

There are additional kitchen-esque items under the sink.

There are fans and AC/heating units in every room, with local controls in each room. Feel free to adjust the temperature and airflow to whatever makes your room comfortable. Each unit has a remote control on the wall in the room (or underneath in the living room area) and controls the temperature and air flow direction.
